Joe Leak

Joe is the managing shareholder of the firm. Licensed to practice law in Alabama and Georgia he has had a prolific career in the courtroom, having tried to a verdict more than 50 jury trials in matters involving complex business disputes, medical malpractice, and other civil lawsuits. He has served as national counsel for a Fortune 500 Company, traveled the country litigating and evaluating high exposure cases, and over his more than 35 years of practice, he developed an interest in areas of practice outside of traditional litigation. Using his background of having formed and managed law firms, Joe gravitated to corporate governance, set up, control, and transactional matters. He regularly counsels his clients on corporate entity structure and management and has represented companies in sales, mergers and capital structuring, with a strong emphasis on start-ups and early capital rounds.  Through his litigation and trial experience, Joe began assisting other litigants with jury analysis and case evaluation through the use of focus groups and mock trials and he continues to perform jury consulting services for clients and attorneys in multiple states. Joe is also involved heavily in alternate dispute resolution, serving as a mediator and arbitrator in complex matters.

Joe is AV rated by Martindale-Hubbell and has been selected by his peers as a Fellow of the Alabama Bar Foundation, an honor limited to one percent of the members of the Alabama State Bar for members who have made a significant contribution to the profession.
